Call For Abstracts Now Open!
FICCDAT could be thought of (modestly) as the olympiad of all conferences relating to aging, disability, caregiving and technology.

This is the second FICCDAT and we intend to continue the tradition every four years.

FICCDAT is an amazing opportunity for you to transfer knowledge from your experience and your research to an extraordinarily broad audience.  You can submit abstracts to all six major conferences, and you can attend and present at several conferences for the cost of attending a single conference.

What an efficient way to build your cv!

The abstract submission process is simple.  Select the most appropriate conference for your presentation.  Then click on the submit/edit abstract link and follow the directions.  All of the conferences require you to submit a title (maximum 80 characters) and a brief summary of your presentation (maximum 400 characters including spaces).  Some of the conferences require you to upload your full paper as a camera-ready pdf file using our template, whereas others only require you to type or copy and paste a text of up to 4,000 characters directly onto the form.

There is no reason to delay!  You can revisit the site as often as you like to edit or add to your submissions right up to the deadline of 1st of December, 2010.

EASPD’s conference “Towards Community-based services – current realities and future challenges” on 7th and 8th October 2010.

On 7th of October, EASPD’s autumn Conference will kick-off in Skopje. It will address the challenges faced in the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with disabilities, by comparing situations and models of service provision found in different parts of Europe.

It is part of the calendar of major events of the Chairmanship by Republic of Macedonia of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe (May-November 2010).

Experts on disability-related issues and representatives of persons with disabilities from all over Europe, representatives from the European Commission and the Council of Europe and key personalities will exchange about the issues faced when trying to implement the UN Convention. The Macedonian Minister of Labour and Social Policy, Mr. Xhelal Bajrami, will be keynote speaker in the opening session.

In a period of financial and economic crisis, the most disadvantaged groups of people are even more endangered, amongst others persons with disabilities. However, it is also a period of severe budget cuts for social services, which damage their capacity to provide adequate support. The EASPD conference in Skopje will offer a space to discuss the way to succeed in improving social conditions for persons with disabilities in this context, by learning from the different experiences to be found in Europe, thereby building bridges in knowledge and practices across the continent.

Six plenary sessions and two series of workshops will enable participants to address this challenging objective. The 1st day of the conference will focus on how quality systems can facilitate the development of community-based services, whereas the 2nd day will be dedicated to discussing the best ways to make services available and society accessible to all.

All regions of Europe will be represented, as EASPD believes that mutual learning is a key for success. All stakeholders involved in the disability sector will have the opportunity to share ideas and build networks at all levels, since cooperation paves the way for improved practices and stronger links all over Europe.

Pozivamo vas na sudjelovanje u webinaru ” Priča o hlebu – Od zemlje, hleba do neba” koji će se održati 23. 04. 2010. u 13:15 sati.

Ovaj je webinar drugi u nizu međunarodnih webinara programa “Let’s learn together“ koji će se održati u organizaciji Microsofta Hrvatska kao dio MS programa Suradnici u učenju (Partners in Learning).

Opis webinara:

U webinaru će biti predstavljen rad “Priča o hlebu – Od zemlje, hleba do neba” koji je dobio 1. nagradu na nacionalnom natječaju Kreativna škola u 2008. godini, u kategoriji osnovnih škola (Ministarstvo prosvete i Microsoft) i 1. nagradu na europskom natjecanju Forum inovativnih nastavnika (ITF) u ožujku 2009. godine u Beču, u kategoriji suradnje te time ostvario i mogućnost sudjelovanja na svjetskom IEF-u u Brazilu (Salvador).

„Rad predstavlja pokušaj tematske nastave i primenu interdisciplinarne metode, što je za srpski školski sistem apsolutna novina. Tema hleba obrađena je kroz časove dva bazična predmeta: matematike, srpskog jezika, i tri izborna predmeta: građanskog vaspitanja, verske nastave, narodne tradicije. U školi su postojala još dva tima, koji su temu hleba obradili kroz ostale predmete: likovnu kulturu, muzičku kulturu, svet oko nas, engleski jezik, fizičko i zdravstveno vaspitanje, ekologiju.“

Voditeljica webinara bit će Slavica Jurić, profesorica srpskog jezika i književnosti iz Osnovne škole „Sveti Sava“, Bačka Palanka. U školi je radila kao nastavnik srpskog jezika, veroučitelj i školski bibliotekar, a danas radi samo kao školski bibliotekar. Nositeljica je najviše pokrajinske nagrade za doprinos obrazovanju Dr. Đorđe Natošević u 2007. godini. Bavi se znanstvenim i istraživačkim radom. Posebni interesi su joj medievistika i medijska pismenost.
